The Limitations of Tank-Dependent Cruising

Small boats can’t carry much freshwater, and refilling often means costly, inconvenient marina stops. For one liveaboard sailor, limited tank storage meant strict rationing, reduced comfort, and constantly planning passages around water availability — not weather or preference.

The LEDI Scout solved the problem with a lightweight, 12V desalination system producing around 10 litres per hour. It runs directly from the yacht’s solar-charged batteries and requires no installation — simply connect the intake hoses and switch on.
