Why Modular

Built for a clean permanent install, not a compromise retrofit.

LEDI Modular is the right choice when you want the watermaker installed out of sight, controlled from a practical onboard location, and matched to your boat's real daily water demand.

Key features

Built around the things that make installed ownership simpler.

Auto freshwater flush

Programmable timer flushes the membrane after every run. Greatly extends life and reduces maintenance when the system isn't in regular use.

Pumptec 107SS & CATPUMP 2SFSEEL

Ultra-compact, fully 316 stainless plunger pumps. Chosen for efficiency, durability and long service life in continuous-duty desalination.

Two-stage prefiltration + carbon

20 + 5 µm pleated cartridges and a 5 µm carbon block. Protects the membrane, reduces fouling and improves long-term reliability.

Remote control panel

Pressure gauges, flow meter, TDS, switches and selector — all on one panel. Install hardware out of sight, control from where you live.

LED UV steriliser Optional

Adds a final UV polish stage for biological safety in stored potable water. LED-based — no lamp to ever change.

SS pressure relief Optional

Stainless steel pressure relief valve for mechanical protection against overpressure and operator error.

TDS sensor included

Total dissolved solids meter on the panel. Immediate confirmation that product water is within spec — every minute of every run.

Product water flow sensor

Confirms the system is producing the flow it should — and makes fault diagnosis straightforward when something drifts.

12 V or 24 V — 10 to 160 LPH

Six output bands and two voltages. Match the kit to your boat's real daily water demand instead of running a single oversized config.

What's included in the kit

  • 01Seawater inlet — from seacock · 1/2" ID pipe
  • 02Freshwater flush — from pressure water · 3/4" BSP female
  • 03Brine outlet — overboard · 1/4" pushfit tube

  • 05Power — 12 V 25 A · Anderson plug to pump module
  • 06Higher draw — 70 A DC cable for CATPUMP configurations
Install

From crate to first litre — four practical steps.

The order is deliberate. Mount first so hoses and cables sit naturally, then plumb, then power, then commission. A weekend job for a competent owner.

01Mount

Mount the four modules

Position pump module, prefilter module, membrane housing and remote panel using the install drawing. All within 1.5 m of each other.

02Plumb

Connect the standard interfaces

Seacock to inlet, freshwater feed to flush port, brine and product water out. Pushfit and BSP — no high-pressure fabrication.

03Power

Wire up 12 V or 24 V

Anderson plug to the pump module for standard kits, or 70 A DC cable for CATPUMP configurations. Fuse and switch supplied.

04Run

Prime and commission

Open the seacock, prime through the carbon block, set auto-flush timer, switch to RUN at the panel. Watch TDS settle below 500 ppm.

Buying FAQs

Common questions before you order.

Can't see what you need? Send a photo of your machinery space and we'll spec the install for you.

Email LEDI →
How do I choose the right output for my boat?

Use a practical guide of 5 to 10 litres per person per day for drinking and cooking, plus extra for washing. 10 to 20 LPH is right for lighter use and smaller crews. 20 to 40 LPH is the common sweet spot for liveaboard cruising. 40 LPH and above suits heavier daily demand or larger tanks.

Choose the closest output and voltage, then call us to confirm before ordering.

Can a competent owner self-install?

Yes — that's exactly what the kit is engineered for. Modules are pre-assembled with all high-pressure plumbing, electrical interfaces and control logic standardised. You mount four modules, plug them together, and connect five interface points to your boat.

Detailed install drawings are included. Australian-based phone support is available if you hit a tricky run.

What's the difference between Pumptec and CATPUMP setups?

For flow rates up to 20 LPH, LEDI uses the 316 stainless Pumptec 107SS plunger pump. For higher-output configurations we step up to the 316 stainless CATPUMP 2SFSEEL platform — capable of up to 160 LPH. All CATPUMP-based systems include integrated pressure-switch protection against dry running, which makes them the stronger choice when output and duty cycle increase.

How does auto freshwater flush work?

The prefilter module includes a programmable timer and a hose barb to your boat's pressurised freshwater supply. After every run, the system pulls clean water through the carbon block and across the membrane to remove residual seawater. Greatly extends membrane life when the system isn't in regular use.

How fast does it ship?

Modular kits are built to order on the Gold Coast. LEDI aims to ship within 2–3 weeks depending on configuration and build queue. If you have a hard deadline (haul-out, delivery trip, refit), call us before ordering and we'll let you know what's realistic.

What maintenance should I expect?

Replace pleated prefilters every 3–6 months and the carbon block every 6 months — all standard 2.5"×10" cartridges, available from any RO supplier. Membranes last 2–3 years with proper auto-flush. The HP pump uses a service kit that LEDI keeps in stock.
