How Nomad makes water
Four stages from seawater to tank.
1 · Pre-filter
Seawater is drawn in through a stainless intake strainer and passed through a 2-stage pre-filter — sediment, fines, then a polish stage to protect the membrane.
2 · Reverse osmosis
The high-pressure pump forces water through a marine-grade RO membrane at ~55 bar. Salt and contaminants stay behind. Fresh water comes through the other side.
3 · UV disinfection
After the membrane, fresh water passes through a UV-C steriliser that inactivates bacteria and viruses — a final safeguard so the water going into your tank is safe to drink.
4 · Verify & tank
The TDS monitor confirms the output reads < 500 ppm. The flow meter shows real litres-per-hour. Clean water flows directly into your fresh tank.

CAT Pumps have been building high-pressure plunger pumps in the USA since 1968 — they're known in the industry as "the pumps with nine lives". The 2SFSEEL is their seawater RO specialist, and it's the only high-pressure pump we fit to Nomad.

Nomad brings the controls and main watermaking components together in one chassis. Plan a suitable DC supply, seawater feed, brine discharge and freshwater connections, plus handling and placement for its approximately 50 kg weight.

Before you buy a Nomad.
Does the Nomad need to be fixed in place?
Nomad can be used in a removable setup or positioned for longer-term use. At approximately 50 kg (46–52 kg dry by model), it is transportable rather than a lightweight carry unit. Plan handling, stable placement, hose routing and DC connections before use. Talk to LEDI about the layout for your boat.
What's the difference between Nomad and Scout?
Scout is the lighter grab-and-go option at 10 or 20 LPH. Nomad steps up to 40, 60 or 80 LPH, a genuine CAT Pumps high-pressure pump and integrated controls. At approximately 50 kg, Nomad suits owners who can accommodate its weight and want the option to relocate the system.
What power options are available?
Nomad is available in 12V or 24V DC. A 48V BLDC motor is available as a custom premium upgrade — longer service intervals and higher efficiency for serious off-grid banks. A 1500W 240V AC waterproof power supply is also available. Talk to an engineer to spec a 48V or 240V setup.
What high-pressure pump does Nomad use?
Nomad uses a CAT Pumps 2SFSEEL stainless steel high-pressure pump, selected for long service life in harsh marine conditions.
Can it run on brackish water?
Yes. Nomad is built for seawater duty, so brackish water is an easier job. Output can increase and operating pressure can drop depending on salinity and feed conditions.
What's the warranty and service story?
Nomad is backed by local warranty and support. We're on the Gold Coast — when you call LEDI, you talk to the engineers who built it. Register your unit when it arrives and we'll take care of the rest. Spares ship Australia-wide; international service via our partner network.
